CHRISTMAS AT MUNICH AIRPORT.

CHRISTMAS AT MUNICH AIRPORT.

We arrived to MUC, Munich airport, the day after Xmas, and after a long tiring flight. It was very warm and sunny. We emerged onto the familiar square between Terminals 1 & 2 and literally gasped. Then we spent some time just strolling around with pleasure, same as did crowds of travelers from all over the world. There was a large figure of Santa Claus standing above a large Christmas market with lots of pretty souvenirs, numerous food stalls, Gluhwein served in pretty Xmas-stocking-shaped red mugs, the lovely decorated Xmas tree in the middle of the square, and a huge mural photo on Terminal 2 building which cleverly combined various famous landmarks from around the world, with London’s Big Ben clock tower and Brandenburg Gate peacefully sitting side by side in it. Families with young children walked around, stopping for food and beverages. Tourists eagerly snapped pictures of everything. It was all very peaceful – and very beautiful. Thank you, Munich Airport, for such a delightful welcome!
