HOTEL PARIS, FLORENCE, ITALY

HOTEL PARIS, FLORENCE, ITALY
One of the first problems one encounters when traveling is, where to stay. We looked at a lot of hotels in Florence, Italy, well in advance, since we were going there for the New Year. We looked at deals and offers, at free cancellation and breakfast. The location is also very important. And we found hotel Paris on Via Bianchi. Breakfast included, nice spacious rooms, free wi-fi, 5 minutes walk both from the main train station, and from the cathedral. The earlier you can book, the better deals you can get. Getting there is easy. The airport is about 10 km away; you can use bus, train or taxi to get to the hotel. If you arrive by train, just cross the road to Santa Maria Novella church, walk a couple minutes past the church and the square looking to your left, and you will see the hotel sign in a side street. There are plenty of cafes, shops and pretty places all around you. You can also see the cathedral right ahead. The hotel is a renovated 17th century palazzo, with tall ceilings, large staircases, old-fashioned windows with shutters which block off all the outside noise. The staff speak good English, and the check in is very fast. If you need any help, just ask. We wanted an extra blanket, which was immediately provided. If needed, any excursion or trip can be organized for you. The interior is amazing, there are old tapestries, pianos, tables and armchairs everywhere. In the large breakfast room, there is a wonderful old ceiling. An open terrace is right next to this room. A coffee machine provides you with a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate around the clock for just 50 cents. Disposable cups, napkins and drinking water are free. There is an internet-point, in case you need it. People leave books and magazines for their fellow travelers to use. All the attractions are within walking distance, as well as the Arno River and all the major shops. There are plenty of supermarkets; most of them have very good sections where they continuously cook, grill and bake all kinds of food. If you want to relax in a café, Canto De’ Nelli is a great choice. Or you can buy a grilled chilcken with salads and potatoes for about ten euros. Mercato Centrale, the central market, is a few steps away from the hotel and the cathedral. You can buy fresh foods, fruits and vegetables, as well as souvenirs, clothes, bags et cetera there.
All in all, we were very happy to have spent our holidays at Hotel Paris.
